Our fifth joint exhibition with the Royal Manor Workshops Art Group was held at the St. Georges Centre, Reforne, on Saturday 4th June between 10am and 4pm. On display were 32 paintings and 157 photographs in a variety of styles and of many different subjects. An additional 19 paintings and photos were displayed together where the artists had each copied one or more chosen photographs in paint, with their own interpretations of them providing an interesting link between the groups. This year we used the smaller Peter Trim Hall as the RMW Summer Exhibition of crafts was taking place in the Girt Hall. It was also Dorset Arts Week and there were some displays in the workshops at the back and visitor numbers seemed good and attendances were hopefully boosted for all three events. A lot of positive comments were received on the work of both groups and the linked images proved very popular as usual. The event met its aim of promoting both groups and attracting possible new club members.
